Almost done with JamCat (still), and I did a T-shirt commission for the Literary Magazine I used to edit in college. I'll have a link for that soon if you want to buy one.

I'm doing the MaryAnn Rhoades Artist Residency at my mom and dad's house. I'm working on 2 comic books. One called JAM CAT which is about my friend, Jamie Cox, and one with my friend Rob about Oscar Wilde.

I got into a grad program down in California, so before I leave Portland I want to do the most Portlandesque art I can think of. It will include:

- bicycles
- bridges
- felt
- raw wood
- patterns from the turn of the century
- recycled objects
- bears in trees
- cut paper
- stacks of things
- some kind of map
- endless trees
- hand lettering

I finished my little baby comic book. You can buy it here. I have had an amazing response to it so far from my wife, our roommate, and my dog. I also got an unreal number of orders from my youtube fans. I would call it a resounding success so far. I have a couple other painting and drawing orders I need to fill, and then I'm going to get back to some regular old fine art painting. You'll be happy to know that this month is the first time I could pay my rent entirely from art earnings. A milestone in katelife.

Well, I didn't get that Anders Nilsen comic book for Christmas, but I did get a new drafting table so I can make more of my own comics. This is my new favorite art supply store:

I secured some studio space, so all I need for Christmas is this.

I am back in Portland sitting on a big pile of money! Now that I'm home my goal is to secure some studio space and a drafting table. If you have either of these things and want to give them to me, let me know.

Still in Omaha for work, and I've made a little bit of progress on my book comic book project. I wanted to put something a little more immediate out, too, though, so I started a webcomic.

I have been living in Portland for a little over a month now. Since we got here I have read a couple dozen zines and comic books. My favorite so far is one that my friend Jamie let me borrow called Stuck Rubber Baby. Also Lisa Hanawalt is excellent. On the 12th I'm going to Omaha, Nebraska for a few months to help my boss at a residency she's doing at Bemis art center. My hope is that while I'm there I'm going to get going on a comic book of my own. If I don't have a good start on it by this time next month, please harass me.

I have been in a blog blackout because we just moved to Portland! More art things coming soon. I've been making videos constantly. They are stupid, but there are many of them and you can see them here. Also I was nominated for an award, and you should vote for me here.

I got married to Tonya Jones on the 12th, because I love her and she loves me.

Everyone that told me that people stop making artwork once they graduate from art school: WRONG!

Just got back from apartment hunting in Portland. Found a classy place on East Burnside. Also, sent in some work for the first edition of Drollhouse Magazine. I'm very excited about it.

Dig it, they put my mail art up on the wall and everything. Weeeoooh!
